Hello Peeps, I've been looking into these Springtails quite a lot lately and here is what I have found. I know I'm probably preaching to the choir with some of you vetrans but please bear with this newbie. Collembola (Springtail) *Detrivore: Eats decomposing material (including dead animals) as well as bacteria and fungi's. Dead leaves, plants, mostly in soil. Hmmm..I'm a living organism....they must have me confused... Last time I checked I was not decomposing. *They like to live in moist dark places: Rotting leaves, dark moist places, wood chips, drains, pools, HOUSE PLANTS, anywhere a mushroom grows.Wet basements, etc. *They are nocturnal. **If these things (hexapods) like eating and are attracted to dead organic material.....does that mean that they are also attracted to....dead skin cells in peoples homes....dirty dishes with food in sinks.....crumbs....dead hair on bathroom floor....cat litter box....?....pretty gross I know.....but makes you wonder. WHY DO THEY CHOOSE TO DESTROY HEALTHY TISSUE ON MY SKIN??? IS IT ACCIDENTAL AS THEY ARE EATING NATURAL BACTERIAS OFF OF IT AND FUNGI...OR IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THEY KNOW WHEN HEALTHY TISSUE BECOME DAMAGED...BACTERIA MAY THEN FORM IN THE HEALING PROCESS. *One last footnote. I've read the statistics about 90% of Morgie's having Lyme. If this is in fact true. What is the relationship between lyme carrying ticks and springtails. They don't seem to be even remotely related in the insect kingdom.....I'm no entimologist....anyone? Thanks for listening to my ramblings... ~Bugsy

Hi Bugsy - Someone else just contacted me about Collembola and unfortunately many Morgellons victims have spent hours on research and countless dollars trying to curtail what they 'thought' was Collembola.........and SOME may have the problem.
My response to the earlier inquiry:
I think Collembola probably would not have a melting point of 400 degrees F up to 1400 degrees F - which many of the fibers have. They do not burn.......Look under the Media Events files at the top of the Board titles - There is a direct link to last night's 3 hour Morgellons Special - No 7. There are six more - and I think the links are somewhere in the Media section.
Hope this helps.
