My husband has Morgellon's for a month now. Rapidly getting worse. Fibers, black specs, sores, brain fog, depression. We've read about so many treatments on the Internet. So far my husband has used limes to get whatever it is off his skin, rinses it off, and then uses gylcerine for some temporary relief. He also wears rare earth magnets on top and bottom of both wrists, and our own doctor (on vacation for another week) told him to use Nutra-Silver, which I now read is not good to take internally. He only took it for one day and feels worse. He is starting to see the 'morgs' everywhere...in the sink, on paper towels, on me and others. Seems his eyes are now trained to see it, but he is getting very obsessive with checking himself and using a microscope. He is of a scientific mentality to begin with. But his behavior is starting to freak me out. I feel so badly seeing him suffer this way.
He works in a highly technological environment (TV network - 30 years) with heavy doses of RF radiation, and construction dust now, due to renovations. While they were moving their desks out of the old dept. there was a TON of dust and debris. My husband went to unhook some wires under his desk and got bit by something. He came home with tiny bites. Then the next week he had to do the same thing, and got bit again, but it swelled his arm up and left a big red mark. Our doctor gave him an antibiotic to take for a week. This was back around Feb.
We have a place in the mountains in the country - very humid there - lots of insects. I am sure there are mold spores everywhere since the house is in a forest preserve there. I got Lyme Disease twice in 7 years. He tests negative for Lyme.
He was also on lots of opiate meds for about 4 years due to severe knee pain. Finally he got the knee replaced and they gave him even more opiates. He was addicted and to deal with withdrawal, turned to other drugs for a while, then beer. He ran himself down.
I share all of this to give a background history - trying to figure out what caused the Morgellon's to settle into him. I am the one with the autoimmune disease and other chronic issues. I also fear due to that fact, that I will contract it from him.
The problem is, he is desperate and willing to try anything, including magnetic zapping, etc. So, what exactly treats the symptoms of this disease? Or, where in NYC can I get the proper help he needs? Or an accurate medical phone consultation?
Any info would be appreciated. I realize, of course, that all of you probably went through the same fears and questions along your own journey with this illness. Thanks. I hope you all have a good day today.
