This has only recently started (I guess). We purchased a used camper in March, I Ordered a new wig in Feb, got a new cat. We have blamed each of these for the crazy things going on. First we found brown recluse, then my daughter started getting bit at night. In the processing of cleaning to no end, I began to find fibers on the floor. I would seep and then there they would be. They appeared to host to dried grass. I put them in water and watched it seperate. This was weird. Then with all the cleaning before bed I bathed, washed my wig and decided to make sure nothing was in it. I saw a dark colored fiber like that shouldn't have been where it was. It moved, literally ran. LOL. I kept persuing gettint it out. Remember this is my new $500.00 wig, I aggrivated it till it pulled itself through the wig and curled up in a tight knot like a snake. When trying to get it out it released an oily substance. Good for the wigs but weird for me. I began looking at other stuff, not going to bed on many occasions. And no it is till in my wig and actually all 3 of them, couch, chairs, stools, everywhere. I was concerned because I don't what it was it would be harmful to the body. We spent the weekend at the lake and I literally went crazy itching, head crawling, you name and thank GOD for benadryl. I have had someone at Childrens Hospital look at what I found. She said it was just really clean white fiber. After returning from the lake my bath water was horrible. White fibers to many to put a number on, the next night the same thing. Last night I was itching so bad I cut pieces of duck tape and stuck them to where I was itching, and yes there was these white fibers, some long some short, and little red one and black ones. I have put Boric acid in my wash water. Thougt it was working and got a towel out for the kids yesterday and there was a big purple spot on it. They don't usually get in my cloths but do the towels and wash cloths. I was checking my wig again at the lake, laid it down on the bed and could see holes like where a needle had weaved in the cover. I literally cut a whole to pull the fibers out. The next day I got a clean towel out and laid it on the bed and thought I better not do that picked it up and there was a big purple spot on it. I don't know what to do. How to clean how to wash to get rid of them. I know to zip lock or bag items but what to wash with I don't know. Or does it matter. Oh, I have form of male patter baldness, and have always had two hairs in one follice as do my 2 girls. Any advice would help. These forums or really great and cover a wide range for discussion.

Hi bgmomof5,
The best thing in the wash is Borax--it doesn't like it. Another thing you can add to the whites is hydrogen peroxide. I buy gallons of food grade and than water down to 3%.
The grape juice Knudsen's (sp) it is organic--drink it and use it to rinse mouth and spit--we often get unexplained tooth pain --this really helps.
There are two things that will really push this stuff out that I have found (remember everyone is different). There is the Capyrlic Acid (Octanoic Acid) as well as the Oxy Opaline. You may feel worse at first--.
i also use soverign silver--well max from biochem country life, milk thistle, yeast fighters--the cranactin from Solary for the kidneys.
The depression may come and it is wise to get something to soften the blow--I use SAM-e--(it is an amino acid taken from the chain). MSM helps helps with muscle and joint pain.
Chamomille baths are also valuable (were for me)--I would steep it really strong. Ammonia can be valuable in cleaning --if things get bad I use it. There are some enzyme sprays I have also heard of--read symptoms and helps and pets as well.
Glad you found us--so sorry you have this--I've been dealing many many years--it is doable--not easy but doable.
Many Blessings, CrystalRiver
Hopefully others will chime in--

Hi, bgmom and welcome here.
In the beginning of this disorder, is the worst, when you first become infected. In truth, You could have picked it up from any of the exposures you listed above. Most people get it from digging in the soil or from cleaning old dusty abandoned houses, or just being exposed to soil or some type of unsanitary condition. I got it after digging around in my yard and planting. If the camper had been neglected for a long time, sometimes birds, rodents, or squirrels get inside and start nesting. They have been out and exposed to the elements and they have mites also.
I used to have a lot of trouble sleeping, too and I stayed up all night many times. I had to be exhausted before I could sleep sometimes. Benadryle and melatonin helps. I sleep very good now most nights.
While you were at the lake over the weekend, a variety of insects were probably being attracted to you. It seems we attract them with some type of pheromone the morgellons give off. I would sprinkle diatomaceous earth on my skin and a little in my hair before going to bed at night and that helped a lot. Do not inhale it directly, though.
I do not know what the purple spot is. I used to find orange spots on the bedding and clothing where I slept. Now that has stopped too.
I wash my clothes in hot water and add Oxyclean, borax, ammonia, or baking soda to the wash with the detergent. I dry the clothes on the hottest temperature. I place them in a plastic bag and seal it until I am ready to use it.
I did a lot of my cleaning with paper towels so I wouldn't put the stuff I just cleaned up back into the wash with everything else.
Damp dusting is better than feather dusting, vacuum the floor, damp mop with vinegar in the water or enzyme cleaner. If any area felt like there was a lot of activity, I would sprinkle that area with diatomaceous earth. I put plastic covers on my mattresses and sprinkled the DE inside before I zipped it up. I also sprinkled it on carpeted areas. DE kills the mites and collumbola by breaking down the exoskeleton.
Running your pillows and blankets in the hot dryed for 20 minutes a couple times a week will keep the dust mite population down and help you sleep better.
Clean out the inside of your body with fresh, whole organic foods that have a lot of fiber in them.
I have some hair loss too. Most people have noticed a variety of symptoms and changes in their hair and scalp after getting this disorder.
Best to you. shubot

You do not find that completely crazy???
It's been 1 year since I have it, and honestly, I tried nothing... No changes in my everyday life or in my food. It's weird...I am in a state of shock, we would say. I feel paralyzed. I am afraid to die I am completely terrorized... I do not want to see these things going out of my body that disgusts me. I think without reflecting, I look without seeing... Even if I know I got THAT, I cannot conceive it, I cannot accept it... I know that I have to begin to clean my body and my environment, but I am not capable....
By reading your messages, I had a big sigh... It's crazy how we have to change every little simple thing in our life! Morgellons just destroys Everything on his way... Just to wash our clothes become a mission of fight... When all this is going to end? When are we going to have answers? Just gratitude and interest would be a good beginning... People says we're crazy... well, I believe that we are incredibly strong and intelligent people to live that and be here, still alive, and relatively with all our mind! As said my grand--mother: if God has put this on my road, it's that I am capable of passing through... keep peace and love with you! big hug to all of my co-suffer! xox have a great week end! ....
