Brian Shimek has been our first "Morgie of the Month" for the www.TheNMO.org website! THANK YOU BRIAN!!! We have gotten lots of compliments for this portion of the site as it serves to put a personal touch on the lives that have been affected by this disease. I understand that many of you do not want to be public for whatever reason. But for all of those that do......please send us your story and your picture and we will make you "Morgie of the Month". All of the 'past' monthly Morgies will still be accessible. Thank you all so much!! Cindy

Hi, Cindy!
I just went to your Morgie of the Month page and I have a question.
How does this fit the Morgs profile?
Maybe I'm just slow, but a bunch of biting fleas, picking off bugs, using permethrin and lesions afterwards - huh? That's Morgs?
Are there other details that were left out that would help clarify the story?
I read it three times and to me, this looks more like a discrediting piece to Morgs than a real, live case of the miseries that this group has experienced ---
--- the kind of thing the disruptors would point to and say ah-ha!! Sand fleas, not Morgs, you bunch of delusional nuts!! Or the kind of story we'd see posted on - er - you know where.
Two years is a relatively short time - beginning to end - to be certain it's Morgs. Some of these symptoms take some time showing up, but I know you know that.
Plus, the "bay" - I assume was salt water? We're very sure the Morgs whatever-it-is and the lesions hate salt water. Did he go into the water? I doubt you could even get it in the sand - too much salt content. Wastewater - Morgs, yes. Seawater &/or sand - fleas yes, but Morgs?
Maybe this is some new kind of real accelerated Morgs, minus all the symptoms? Help! I'm sorta lost on this one. Maybe I don't understand the disease at all and since you're the medical expert, I'm asking you to explain this, please, so that I'm good and clear on the subject! LOL! Could the brain fog be rolling back in? Did he have brain fog? Anything?

Hi Thinker,
I don't know how many Morgellons patients you've observed or talked to. I also don't know what your story is but I would like to hear it. I have personally seen several of these patients and I have listened carefully to hundreds of stories.. ... and Brian's story is typical of the Morgellons accounts that I've heard. I'll go back and read it again now to see if I've missed something and will try to find out exactly what differences you are referring to and I'll post again after I've re-read it.
I will try to answer all your questions as best I can but will first go back and read Brian's story to try to understand what possible problem you could have with it.
I do have to ask....have you ever met other Morgellons patients?
Again....a big thanks to Brian Shimek for his ACTIVISM in the Lone Star State!! Brian has made his way from Dr. Johnnie Walker (yes, that IS his name) of the Texas State Health Dept. to Dr. Adelaide Hebert....I'm sure you will remember this pin head from one of the TV broadcasts when she spoke about HER idea of "evidence based medicine" and how Morgellons simply could not be real.
More later...after I've re-read Brian's story.

Just re-read Brian's story and it sounds very similar to the hundreds of stories I've read and heard so far. I think I would be safe in saying that 85% or more of the stories I've heard started out with perceived bites...either fleas, head lice, or otherwise. I considered myself one of the few that never used Permethrin, Kwell, or NIX type treatments. I remember almost trying it a time or two.
Thanks, Cindy

I wrote to your CherokeeChaz board's vet when my dog was dying. All I asked was for info or to put my wanting-to-learn vet in touch with her. As with ALL correspondence, including volunteer submissions, no one ever responded to anything. Not even a, "Get lost, I'm busy," auto-response letter. Rather odd for a group who proclaims to want to help, and wants help from volunteers.
My problem with Brian's story is that he mentions nothing else - if he's had this two years, he's had other symptoms. The symptoms are the main subject of discussion because they are so excruciating. So why no details in all those words he wrote?
If what he wrote is ALL that he had occur, then I wonder just how you come to the final conclusion that it's Morgs? Has he ever seen a fiber? It is very unusual for folks NOT to speak about the more bizarre aspects of this illness, and there's not one iota of anything in what he wrote. Why is that?

The state legislature in Oklahoma in May 2006 established a 50-year academic affiliation agreement with OSU's teaching hospital, renamed OSU Medical Center and appropriated $40 Million towards said agreement.
There is a tell---wouldn't you say.

I was so intrigued by Thinker's response, and also the "Homeland-y" aspect of the name "New Morgellons Order" (very funny adjective, BTW), that I attempted to access the "TheNMO.org" website and it was down. It was back up just a few minutes ago. So first of all, Thinker, I'm wondering if anything was changed on the Morgie of the Month blurb. Secondly, I also have the same questions as Thinker. But I also want to say that I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I got this disease a year ago by being assaulted by bedbugs (more than 200 bedbug bites appeared on my body after a few nights away -- and bedbugs have been confirmed). So I think there will never be enough said about insects being a vector for this disease (and now apparently sand fleas also) -- (and I can't offer any explanation about the salt factor, and it's a good point made by Thinker, but one thought is that salt may be harmless to insects in crystal form but not diluted in water). Many others have reported other insects, such as collembia (sp?). Insects not only can keep re-infecting, but accelerate the progress of the disease if there's continued exposure. There seems to be (slowly) more confirmation of this, but if the whole world in general only knew the dangers that are looming....everyone would be up in arms. I'm not sure who on this website ever saw the movie called the Hellstrom Chronicle -- I saw it about 40 years ago and it is truly the most scary thing I've ever seen -- about the power of insect reproduction and how easily they can take over the world. We know nothing about how to stop infectiousness of this disease or any proliferation of the products of this disease -- we don't even know what kind of life form they are, but it won't take long for all fresh waters to be saturated with these -- whatevers. It's just mind-boggling.

I must agree with both of you on this subject about the name. I have to say it took me by surprise, I didn't know if it was a connection to NWO or the flip of it, but it does make you wonder.
If you have had this disease long enough and been dealing with the PTB long enough, you are going to realize the political implications of Morgellons. If you look at all the money being thrown at the nano industry you realize why no one wants to address this.
Problem is if someone doesn't see the long range issue, it is going to be to late, most likely is. Usually I'm full of hope, I won't let go of that little bit I'm holding onto, sometimes, it would be really easy to say that everyone that could possibly have helped can be bought off, and those that can't can be pushed, or suicided in some other way. I think I'm in an alter universe, because everything feels wrong, not as it should be, not just bad, not just hopeless. The words I'm looking for is out of place and time. I would have to wonder if those machines that are working at different locations, collider type machines (anybody with the scientific words feel free to put the right word in) messing with the whole universe.
Enough of my rant, maybe I should be disillusioned instead of whiterose.

I have to put my two cents worth into this.....
I had considered contacting New Morgellons Order as a Morgie of the Month for I believe that the more we can bring this disease to a human level instead of always looking at the scientific side can help those trying to understand.....This would be a huge breakthrough factor for me for since M I hate my picture anywhere so this would be a difficult venture to have my face pasted on their website but I am at my wits end with this whole mess.....
It always seems that we take two steps backward to make one step forward.....we need big steps forward and maybe 2007 will be our year......we pray.....as our friend -bc- says God Loves Us.....and there have been times when I just want to run and hide and lick my wounds I don't for every new day I want to fight harder......it is THIS BOARD OF CARING FRIENDS sick like me that gives me the strength to push ahead....
I am sorry if Brian's story doesn't address all the miseries of Morgellons but this brave man pasted his face and his story out there for all to see......and for that I am gratefull to Brian.....his story might not be the most suffering story but he took it upon himself to be the first Morgie of the Month.....and if everyone of us suffering with this did their story we would still be doing Morgie of the Month 10 years from now.....
I have to Thank Brian for his courage......and his dog also sick with M........for being the FIRST Morgie of the Month.....
Warmest Wishes SickandTired

A New Day Will Begin Sometimes it isn't easy when the clouds are overhead To look to the horizon and see brighter days ahead... But if you keep believing better times are on the way You'll get a little stronger and more confident each day. Although it may be cloudy, don't give up and don't give in - - Just look to the horizon where a new day will begin.
May your troubles go down with the sun, and may hope rise with each dawn.
