Moscow, Jam 19 (Prensa Latina) The Russian Military Complex (RMC) successfully applies nanotechnology in the production of weapons and war materials, informed the government vice president, Serguei Ivanov.
Ivanov added that this field of science can radically change the character of war and added that the works of RMC will be completely financed.
Recently the director of the Nanotechnology Center of the Energy Institute of Moscow Andrei Alexeyenko affirmed that the specialty can "intelligently" destroy mobile targets, including combat tanks.
Alexeyenko explained that devices less than one millimeter can be used to form a cloud of any size and power of destruction.
Moscow is investing over 1.1 billion dollars on the rapid development of nanotechnology to achieve leadership in the world market, added Russia television channel.
The first federal program of development of scientific research and updated technologies approved by the cabinet of ministers in 2006 supports this decision, the source added.
The project foresees promoting a network that includes preparation of specialists, a system of information exchange, development of equipment and its industrial production.
The former president and current prime minister, Vladimir Putin, headed a debate of the National Council of Security in 2006 in the Kremlin regarding the poor showing of Russia as compared to other powers.
Agreeing to concentrate efforts, in that meeting, it was decided to follow four priority lines such as nanotechnology, energy saving and development of alternative sources, as well as informatics.
Since that date the process of creating techno-plants was enhanced to promote innovative companies able to lead projects from the beginning of an idea to the organization of manufacturing the final product.
The annual production of these companies in the centers may surpass 30 billion dollars, concluded sources.
