Steve their is also a link on the front board dealing with Legal, Medical and Psychiactric communities. There is help here for those in need of these services.
If it were me, I would bath the children in the 1/2 bath in a rubber maid tub, hook a hose up to the kitchen or other bathroom. My first two children and my two step children did not get infected. We adopted another child and we only have one bathroom and it has been during this time that she became infected. I did not know at the time that it was contagious.
Many Blessings, Big Hug, whiterose

Dear Steve and family,
First of all....try and remain calm. I got this just before my daughters 12th birthday party last summer. They told me I had Scabies. It went away for a while ... or so I thought. It came back in December of this year....thought I had lice....nope. Then my husband found Morgellen's online and here I am.
Neither my husband or child have it yet, that I know of. My dog definitely has it. Do you have pets? Stock up on amonia to clean with and to wash your laundry in. Baking soda for you and your spouse if infected to soak in....and the most important thing I've found recently is ZINC OXIDE...yes..it is diaper cream. I put it on at night to pull them out of my skin. Kinda sticky but is amazing. Keep the tub clean and the whole bathroom....toilet seat...wipe it off after using so kids butts are safe. Vacuum and dust whenever possibe.......and I've heard spraying everything down with enzyme cleaner works well for the eggs and possibly the adults...this is not proven but I'm currently trying it. I spray it in my car.....lampshades...everything you cannot wipe down...fabrics. Paper towels are a must......no more community hand towels........have a roller in EVERY room with a sink. Pump soft soap.....stay away from bar soap....just use common sense. I have peroxide on hand to wipe down phones, and reading glasses and sunglasses.
You will be okay. There are people in here with babies who have it........cute sweet little babies. I keep looking at my daughters face and checking for bites. Every time she has a pimple I FREAK. Above all REMAIN CALM kids follow your cues....and frankly my kid gets a little scared when I start going on and on about this to my husband so I try to keep the bug talk to a minimum....so she doesn't end up like a compulsive neurotic clean freak with OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). We are here for you. STATY STRONG.

Steve, most of us here have been through the same thing. I am a grandmother and my grandaughter got it too. Bugsy and Whiterose have some good ideas. Here are some more suggestion:
1. If at all possible, give them their own bathroom. 2. Don't mix your clothes when you wash them with your clothes or blankets, sheets, towels, etc. because they camp out in your clothing. 3. Whiterose and Bugsy were right about being calm and collected. Especially, don't talk about it around the kids if you think it would scare them. 4. Don't comb or brush your hair in the house if at all possible. That is the easiest way to contaminate your whole house as the little monsters get into your ventilation system. If possible, put a vent filter in the areas they play and make sure the areas around the intake are as clean as possible and make that part of your routine. 5. Obviously, don't share drinking glasses, silverware, etc. Whoever is cooking, wear cheap latex gloves on the foods that you touch.
If you can't work, apply for Social Security but it takes some time. If you have any other more specific advise that might help you, all the people here are good to talk to. I will send you my phone number and I believe the others already have.
But the most important thing is not to scare your kids. If a rumor like that went around the school, you will have a whole new set of problem. You know how kids are.
I know you and your wife will be able to handle it well. Use logic and common sense and assume this is contagious unless we find out otherwise. (Do keep your car clean...I can feel this stuff in my car all the time.
I know this is scary at first for you and your wife, but as many of us have said, we are being reborn and for the better.
Good luck to you and write or call anytime. I'll send my phone number as the others have.
Bless you (make it part of your new tradition to say a positive affirmation every night). It will be very important to keep and create some new traditions for them.
Grace/Sandy

You have to look for the inner strength in yourself and it will come. I have waited and lasted for 26 years now you can do it. When everything seems the darkest the light will come. Use our helps at the board, use our support, HOLD ON!

I did not mean to discount your pain of the attorney of the medical people, we all know it all to well. They know something is up, but something is being held over them.
The CDC takes DOP off the books and than a reporter calls to want us to go on the air to discuss why the doctors don't believe us. I believe that question is for the doctors.

Steve,
Go ahead and call me today. Once you get past the shock of it all, you will handle it like a pro. I do know what you are going through. This terrible thing has ripped families and our security into a million pieces.
But I know you will catch up to us soon because you have to for the little ones. I know it and you know it. Avoid doctors unless you talk to one of us (short of a non morgellons emergency, of course).
Send me your number if you like and I'll call you. My electricity and house phone are off and I am in foreclosure on my house. There are horrific stories out there. But knowing there are others with you (including all the people on the board and me, of course) we'll take you back to the light. Get ready, because your whole life is going to change; we will make sure its for the better...kind of like being born again! I look forward to meeting you.
Blessings,
Grace/Sandy

Dear Steve,
I'm glad you are here. There are some truely wonderful people on this board. We are all here to help you through this, cause honestly we are all just getting by day by day also.
I have a child too. I believe this is transmissable from mother to child, as she started showing signs at just a few months of age. Everyone is right. Calm is the best way, the only way really...to deal with this.
Find a place away from your kids and cry, just let it all out, and release it, and then come back and focus on loving more. Love your kids more, love your wife more, love yourself more.
Attitude is everything.
Love to you and your family
Ali

Folks, God bless you but before you get carried away with worry about contamination from other family members do this simple inexpensive experiment. Purchase a very fine-tined comb, like a nit-comb for head lice. Comb each family members hair for a week, one person at a time, and at the end of the week examine the comb at the point where the tines are inbedded in the comb with a hand lense of at least 10x power of magnification. Better yet take it to your Vet and ask him to examine it with his binocular microscope at 40x. We are not looking for head lice or eggs but a colorful "fibril" about a tenth the diameter of the hair that will also be evident. You may find structures that look like cocoons, microscopic whitish crystals and some thing that looks like pepper. Heaven only knows what you may find depending on where you are located. Hopefully you won't find anything but I'm expecting everyone of you will find the same thing.
Next, look up! Way up. I believe you will find this "stuff" is in the wind. You won't see it except under that condition where the inside particles in the air are visible when the light is just right. I hope you know what I'm trying to describe.
Now, what to do? For starters I think we should all be running one, two or three air cleaner/purifiers in our homes 24/7. I would recomment the best unit you can afford; one that has charcoal and HEPA filtration, a UV sanitizer, an ion generator and can produce an acceptable level of ozone. I can provide more detailed information on this. There are units that provide HEPA filtration only and this is far better than nothing but for just a little more you can obtain units that will do much more to protect you. When outside, use your imagination but do give this some serious consideration. Examine the dust on the dash of your car at 40x for a real wake-up call.
