Hey WR, Here is an indexed list of the radiation experiments done on U.S. citizens with or without informed consent. This is all under the name "The Department of Energy or DOE Roadmap. tinyurl.com/2fdgtu. This is indexed under "OTHER." I have yet to find the DOE (Dept of Energy's) Enviornmental Releases and WHERE they occurred. WHERE IN THE HECK ARE WE LIVING? NAZI GERMANY? ________________________________________ OT-7. Uptake of Iodine-131 in Normal Newborn Infants in Iowa City The uptake of iodine-131 was studied in newborn infants at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, in 1963. Twelve male and 13 female infants were included in this study. All were less than 36 hours old, weighted between 5.5 and 8.5 pounds, and were considered to be healthy and normal. Less than 1 microcurie of I131 was administered to each newborn. Eight received the radioiodine orally and 17 by intramuscular injection. The concentration of I131 in the thyroid was measured using a thyroid gamma probe. Measurements were continued at intervals of 2 to 8 hours for 3 to 4 days. This study showed that I131 was taken up by the thyroid at a higher level and more rapidly when administered by injection rather then ingestion. This study was supported by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission and the American Cancer Society. (Previously described in #4 on original 48 experiments released by DOE in June 1994) ___________________________________ ~Bugsy

Here we go..... tinyurl.com/2nx5rg_____________________________________ The Tennessean Special Report: An investigation into illnesses around the nation's nuclear weapon sites. 2002. Some releases remain classified While much more is known today about releases from the nation's nuclear weapons sites, the government has not yet revealed everything. "Operation Bluenose" stands as a stark example of lingering Cold War secrets. Activists concerned about poisons that have gone into the environment have reviewed the few declassified documents that exist on the top secret program. They believe it was a series of intentional radioactive releases at the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory near Idaho Falls. Operation Bluenose is believed to be similar to the "Green Run" at the Hanford site in Washington, where radioactive iodine was intentionally released. Documents show Operation Bluenose officials visited with Hanford experts to "investigate methods" used by Hanford to calculate amounts of krypton-85, a radioactive gas, released to the atmosphere from Hanford plants. Subsequent documents refer to "Bluenose releases," but information about what or how much may have been released remains classified. _______________________________________ All for now ~Bugsy
