This is Travis' Story. I believe it is the story of Travis Wilson, from the Houston area, who later ended his life. If I had read this article 6 months ago, it certainly wouldn't have the same effect as it does today. But I know so much more now, comprehend concepts that were foreign before, and am thankful he left this page of info. I pray for his soul. Travis' Story www.eharassment.ca/stories/travis.htm

Thinker, Travis's story made me fearful of something I haven't seen mentioned. Those of us that are older are more concerned about children and grandchildren and not so much ourselves other than "access" to loved ones and fear for them. Young kids we fear for because we don't know the full and final effects, etc. and we try to protect them.
But teenagers and young adults have a whole different perspective that scares me. It will affect them the most and they will react on a more personal level because they are just getting out on their own to experience life. This will be devastating for them.
We really need to consider putting ourselves out there more so there is a face to this affliction; those of us who are older and can handle it. As long as people don't see us as normal people, they can ignore us or call us lunatics. Does anyone understand what I am saying? It is easy to make fun of someone or ignore someone you can't see or relate to. I really wish we could conference call to discuss because there is too much at stake to remain secluded and anonymous. Am I wrong? Cliff? Sho? Thinker? All?

Ha!! I have to laugh gracebeours, you mention lunatic which I find extremely amusing.
In my genetics we have no lunacy!!
It is true, I checked my families census records from 1901, and they didn't appear in "column 17" which is the "lunatic, insane column".
My mum and I joke about this a lot. We call ourselves delusional just for a laugh we have to and then we top it off with at least we're not in "column 17".

A very warm welcome to the Board, Gracebeours.
If you have been reading our posts for the past few months you'll be really au fait with what we are all about.
About the younger ones......you know the old saying..."You can't put an old head on young shoulders"? I'm afraid it's very true. You can only watch over them and pray. It's easy enough to alienate them with just the age barrier.
Undoubtedly you've read the definition of the "Y " Generation?
What can I say? We can only love them and be there for them when they need us.

Ginger Savely wrote a wonderful article about Travis Wilson in "Public Health Alert" in the Oct. 2006 issue. It was probably the most touching article I have ever read about Morgellons Disease. I even reference some of it during my talk at More Jamm. I will try to find the link to this awesome article as I want you all to read it. It was titled "The Orphan Patient". In the article, Ginger sent a plea to health care providers to LISTEN to their patients.
I'm gonna try to find the link so I can post it here.

Three 'puter mice, three 'puter mice,
See how they splice, see how they splice.
They all contol their owner's life,
T'would be their fun causing strife
Did you ever see such puns in your life
As three 'puter mice, three 'puter mice?
