Hi,
Been lurking for a bit, thought it was time to introduce myself. I'm a 32 year-old female from BC, Canada. I realized I had Morgellon's a little less than a year ago, but I've been suffering for many years. Found out about Morgellon's through mfromcanada1's videos on YouTube while researching chemtrails. I was in the process of relocating to a rural, less polluted area (was living by an airforce base where spraying is almost nonstop) when I discovered most of the dust, not only in my home, but pretty much everywhere, was, for the most part, not dirt or other debris, but fibers, and that these fibers matched the colours of fibers described by Morgellon's sufferers, although at first I didn't notice them coming from my skin.
A little after settling into my new place I began to see fibers coming out of my skin, normally after a bath, while perspiring and after consuming large amounts of garlic. For the first few months the fibers were often brightly coloured, and generally shorter, but as time goes on, the fibers have become longer, and are mainly whitish or black/gray, almost always from intact skin. Sometimes I get a mild rash or hives, but no lesions.
My main symptoms, which are debilitating to the point I am unable to work, are fatigue, headaches (was getting them pretty much all day everyday for years until I started using marijuana medicinally 5 years ago...a godsend, btw), muscle and joint pain, excess perspiration and hot flashes (I use oxybutinin in conjunction with the marijuana for this and the combo works well), insomnia (almost totally alleviated by the marijuana, yay!) and what I call my "bipolar episodes".
Technically, I am on disability for PTSD, but I feel much of the mental/emotional crap I go through is actually a result of Morgellon's, as I have done a great deal of inner work, and these traumatic events occured 15 years ago and I rarely think about them.
I am in a better place now because I'm very medicated, but for a few years I was highly agorophobic and OCD. To complicate things, I have an autistic spectrum disorder. Whew! I don't feel really comfortable talking too much about my family, but I am also raising a child with Morgellon's and an autistic-spectrum disorder.
I have been very fortunate to find us a lovely, affordable rental home with a lot of room to garden and even a salt water lagoon, literally a stone's throw from my back porch. A perfect environment for healing.
For the first time, I'm growing my own food and herbs. Organic food is not that affordable on a fixed income, but this way I am getting more organic fruits and veggies than we can eat for free.
Aside from this, trying to keep my home and body as clean as possible and eating as much garlic as I can. Excercise and sun seem to help, too. Another thing I find helpful is taking the occasional chlorinated bath.
Our water is untreated (normally a great thing), and I see a huge difference in the amount of fibers coming out when I bathe at my mom's, where the water does have chlorine added. A few people have suggested adding coloursafe bleach to the water, but I feel this to be a safer, more gentle option.
Anyways, I have a lot more to share, as well as a lot of questions, and I'm very grateful to have found this forum.
