Hi everyone, My name is Kat. I think I have morgellons but I'm not sure.
Here's just a brief run down for you.
In July, I rescued a kitten from someone that threw it out the window. I
brought him home for one night and found him a home the next day. The kitten
did have fleas which my cats did get. I treated my home and the cats. The
fleas are gone.
About a week later, I felt swarming up the inside of my arm. Then I started
feeling like someone was tickling my face with a piece of lint at various times
of the day.
I called my doctor to make an appointment with him to get a referral to a
dermatologist. I went to the dermatologist and they found nothing. I even
brought the black specs with me but nothing.
I continued to feel the tickle feelings and finding the black specs in my house,
on my desk at work, and ocassionally on me. I brought the black specs to
Cornell Cooperative Extention here in my home town to be analyzed under a
microscope. They came back negative for any kind of mite.
Went to another dermatologist that said they saw nothing. Did no skin scraping
or any kind of testing.
I started getting tiny burrow like marks in my arm and hand. I went to another
dermatologist. They biopsied one of my "burrows" and sent it to the lab. It
came back that I had inflammation around my blood vessels. They did not know
what that meant nor did they offer any further testing. I mentioned morgellons
and he immediately told me that morgellons is the same as delusional parasatosis
and referred me to another doctor "who handles these things".
Went to the "morgellons" doctor, who I believe they send all the "crazies" to.
He said that he has a lot of "morgellons" patients, but doesn't know much about
it. He took a skin scraping, but nothing showed under the microscope. He also
sent me for bloodwork under another assumed diagnosis because he said the
insurance companies won't pay for morgellons. It came back negative.
He made another appointment with me for a psychiatric consultation with him and
a pyschiatrist. I was deemed delusional. This information was sent to my
primary care doctor who is now taking me out of work for "anxiety".
I am presently trying to get an appointment with an infectious disease doctor,
but she too is refusing to see me based on what all the other dermatologists
have told her. I requested my primary doctor call her to persuade her into
seeing me.
This is rediculous. I am totally beside myself. I don't know if what I have is
morgellons or not, but I can tell you that I feel things under my skin, on my
skin and when I look at my arm with a microscope I see the black specs. I do not
have any open wounds with fibers sticking out.
My cats are also experiencing symptoms. I have taken them both to the vet and
they checked out fine, but they are scratching, grooming excessively, and
shaking their head as if there are mites in their ears.
For over a week I could not sleep at all. The movement under my skin was
driving me nuts. I barely ate either. I have lost 10 pounds since this all
started.
I am currently treating myself by eating 2 cloves of garlic, 2 oregano oils, 2
grapefruit seed extracts, 2 olive leafs, and 2 ginger capsules per day. I am
also taking colloidal silver (not nutri silver). I'm also taking a probiotic
about 5 hours later.
I'm giving my cats the colloidal silver as well, and putting the grapefruit seed
extract and the olive leaf in their food which causes them not to eat it.
I'm going nuts. Constant laundry, everything in Rubbermaid containers. It
doesn't seem to be working. I don't know if I have morgellons, collembola, or a
cat disease like toxoplasma gondii or something, or if I have bird mites in my
house.
How am I supposed to know if no doctors recognize this to be able to rule it
out?
My roommate also had these symptoms for over a week before I did. His are gone.
Me and the cats continue to suffer.
I'm not going near any family or friends until this is gone.
Very sad, scared, and overwhelmed...
