Why or when did our medical community STOP thinking for itself?
It seems that ALL doctors are TOTALLY taking cues from the CDC which in my opinion has ZERO credibility after Hurricane Katrina.
They also seem to take most or ALL of their cues from these peer reviewed publications which may or may not be accurate.
All peer review is, is another good ole boy giving another opinion of your findings.
It is a bizarre set up for a medical community to be held hostage and waiting around wringing its hands waiting for the great OZ/CDC to dictate the authority of the last word??
If there is lack of private funding or interest in a disease this seems to be the bottom line. This needs to change.
What if their findings are somehow wrong or off the mark?
Does the medical community go about business as usual? Totally ignoring this HORRIFIC DISEASE which is destroying thounsands of families in the U.S. and abroad?
What if it comes to this? Will we then all stand together and come out from hiding behind our computer desks and march Washington? Some have broached this subject and could not decide whether to march Atlanta headquarters or California at Kaiser and my answer would be WASHINGTON, D.C.
The buck stops there. CDC is not playing fair.
Who's with me?? We have a whole year to plan and/or save some money for this. I am broke as hel l but will try and do my best. If I am physically able to do this I will drive there. I'm guessing that the findings will be released in the Spring of 2009.
Our new president will have been sworn in and perhaps will be more apt to listen to our appeals for help. A new hope with a new administration. Just think about it. Mull it over. The cherry blossoms are in full bloom and beautiful this time of year!!
