I was searching the Armed Forced Institute of Pathology or AFIP
website earlier to see if ANYTHING is underway regarding the Morgellon's aka Unexplained Dermopathy and I stumbled across this little presentation.
The AFIP is part of the investigation of the unexplained dermopathy. The principal investigator is Joe Selby from the CDC.
When is this new descriptive epidemiologic study going to begin?!
This appears to be a vet who put together a lecture talking about zoonotic disease: This subject has come up before and it does affect families with this condition so I found it to be relevant.

Date: August 23, 2007 - 3:00pm
Presenter: Bruce H. Williams, DVM
Staff Pathologist, Department of Veterinary Pathology
Chair, Department of Telemedicine
Armed Forces Institute of Pathology
Synopsis
In case of unexplained illness in a household, the incriminating finger is often pointed (with little substantiation) at the family pet. Inflammatory media stories about cross-species infectious diseases have fanned the flames of near hysteria on the part of pet owners and family physicians, often with disastrous consequences. In this 45 minute lecture, Dr. Williams will review the zoonotic diseases of common household pets from a veterinarian’s viewpoint, lesions and symptoms of the diseases they may transmit, and shed some light on the true level of risk posed by these conditions.
Objectives
Review potential zoonotic disease conditions which may be encountered by pathologists in a clinical setting.
Compare and contrast clinical and pathological signs of these conditions between household pets and their owners.
Explain the risks and likelihood of transmission of these conditions between pets and their owners.

Now if they would only put HALF as much effort into the diseases of HUMANS namely, Morgellon's then we would have something!!!
