I'm not exactly a NEW Member, but new to posting anything here. I have Morgellons and enjoy reading everyone's comments, so I thought I would add a quick one. I've been symptomatic for a little over 2 years. My story in the beginning is probably just like everyone else's, the stinging, itchy, black specs, hair loss, terror, rebuked by every doctor. But as time has gone on, the stinging stopped and the the symptoms began changing and do to this day. I must admit, once I stopped living in my world of denial, confusion and anger (though the anger still exists and won't go away until this disease does!), it became easier for me to expect the unexpected and sometimes reach out to others who also suffer from this horrible condition. I don't mean to be unkind when I say that I was relieved to read about other people with the same bizarre things happening to them--because I found out I wasn't alone after all. It has been SO helpful to read about other's journeys, to try some of their suggestions and to begin to have a more positive attitude. I find it difficult to maintain that positive attitude at times, reality and depression WILL get the best of me. But coming to this site and reading so many personal stories about this dreadful disease and how you all cope, has been life-changing. Thank you.
To sum up my recent experience, I have known for a long time that there are SEVERAL things, or fungi, or yeast, or bacteria, or parasites, WHATEVER feeding and reproducing feverishly in me and on me and in my home and on my dog. Multi-pathogenic. But even though my Dermatologist has been educated about Morgellons, and believes me, he is at a loss as to how to treat me. Some oral medication (Diflucan, now Terbinafine - neither of which are slowing this monster down), anti-fungul shampoo. That's it. Oh, he recently prescribed me a medication to hopefully help with my obsessive compulsion to pick the white nuts out of my skin. It's a psych med, I believe, but at this point-I'll try ANYTHING! I mean, wouldn't every level-headed, right-minded person want to remove something foreign from their body, that's spreading and horrifying? At this point, burning up the little fluorescent blue fiber-thingies that protrude from my body provides me a sense of satisfaction and entertainment! Lol Don't know yet if it's going to help, only taken it for a week. So far, I am still enjoying what I hope is TORTURE to them! π
So I had to go to the Podiatrist because my toes are riddled with fungus, and one toe has a deep crack in it and hurts when I walk. Long story short (if that's possible!), he took a skin scraping and sent it to the lad to confirm a fungus. (Been using Jublia for over a year--don't waste your money or time, made no difference for me) This was about 3 weeks ago. I just received a phone call from their office informing me that I tested positive for "various" things and need to schedule an appointment to discuss treatment options. Don't know what THAT means, maybe he wants to cut off my feet! Ha ha..... Anyway, I asked the girl what did she mean by "various"? She said I the sample was positive for 5 different things. Yes, FIVE! Finally, an affirmation that I DO have something going on, I'm NOT crazy, I'm NOT imaging this bullnuts, and it's multi-pathogenic just like I thoughtβββ
I'll check in hear now and then, and I'll definitely report to you all what I find out next Wednesday at my appointment. We are NOT crazy or delusional! WE aren't, YOU aren't, THEY are for not taking us seriously. They will when they start experiencing the lovely little monsters.....
Take care all,
Cindi. . PM Cindy if you wish to chat, thank you for understanding, we end up in trouble if I don't
