The Charles E. Holman Foundation is the only group committed to finding the cause of Morgellons Disease by using approved, scientifically sound research methods. Patients from every part of the world contact us daily seeking help, scientific validation of this disease, and most of all, support. Most of these patients no longer have the ability to work. They have been denied proper medical care and are dismissed and humiliated by doctors. Many have suffered the loss of their spouse or other family members because of the unsubstantiated stigma related to this disease.
In the past year alone, we have seen an exponential increase in the number of patients that contact us through our website, with the average number of requests increasing from three to five per week to an average of seven every day. In almost every support request we see, there is a common sense of desperation, and it is vital to the community that we are able to respond with reassurance. We are able to direct them to all of the recent scientific, peer reviewed, published research on our website and provide them with links to search for a medical professional close to them.
We arm them with information, and give them hope.
It is only through generous donations from people like you that we have been able to fund these crucial research and education initiatives.
We have made significant progress in the past two years, educating doctors and other medical professionals about our research and how to properly diagnose Morgellons disease. Last year at the 2015 ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Disease Society) conference, more than 500 attendees heard the latest research presentation by Marianne Middelveen and were astounded that this disease has yet to be recognized by the mainstream medical community. Our exhibitors booth boasted an endless line of attendees looking for additional information. At the upcoming 2016 ILADS conference, we're thrilled to have our own Morgellons break-out session with seven speakers giving presentations# on various aspects of this disease and the ongoing research.
The Charles. E. Holman Morgellons Disease Foundation is a completely volunteer led organization. We are very proud that 95% of our annual donations go directly to research and education. With your support, our year-end appeal will help us fund upcoming research projects, allow us to continue with our education of patients and medical professionals, and enable us to have this disease widely recognized, and one day cured.
Thank you so much for your support.
The Charles E. Holman Morgellons Disease Foundation is a registered 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization and all donations are 100% tax deductible.
