Sarah, maybe this will help all of those suffering with Lyme's Disease to get the help they need. It is so sad that this man and his family had to suffer so long and he had to perish.
Sometimes I think they do not want to admit a disease is a real disease even though they know it is real because they do not want to pay for all of the people to be treated and healed. I remember when they said AIDS, Firbromyalgia, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome was not real and "all in their head" and it may be to depopulate too.

Shubot, It is a sad story, though I believe the story only made it into the news because he worked in television. Same as Sam Stosur (tennis player), she was treated for Lyme a couple of years back. She had to pull out of some big tennis torment as she was diagnosed with Lyme.
Anyone in Australia who thinks they have Lyme disease should send there blood overseas for analysis. The test in Australia is inadequate. My partner's Lyme tests have been negative, we're sure he has Lyme & probably me too. If we could afford the blood tests we'd have them, but then what do you do if you do in fact have Lyme? it's not a recognised disease in this country. It was almost held against me in a psych. report that I believed I had Lyme. Unfortunately, they make a mockery of Lyme & Rickettsia.
I'd really like to think Lyme could be a recognised disease & treated, but I doubt it. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in '96, long before it was trendy in Australia. The doctors haven't explained a thing to me about this condition, other than it's painful & disrupts sleep.
I have trouble getting my head around the idea of depopulation. I feel like a freak amongst my family knowing what I know, them not having a clue, & me being unable to tell them.
I have a friend who has travelled from WA to Ausburg Germany to be treated for Morgellons, to find out they have Lyme also.
(I modified my post as I'd written my friend was from NSW when in fact they are from WA. Lyme appears to be in most states in Australia.)

Sarah, It does seem that many Morgellons patients do have Lyme's as well. I think the tests for it in the USA are not strong enough to detect it all patients who really have it. The results for a positive is too high, I think the number should be lowered. My thought is, If any number shows up in the result, it is positive. If zero is the result, then it is not positive.

shubot, I agree with you about any number showing up, for it to be positive.
Germany seem to have a good test for detecting Lyme.
I think people just know if they have Lyme, there are so many symptoms & if you tick most of the boxes that would be fair to say you have it, unfortunately.

Sarah, yes, the list is long. I think they suffer something terrible. I read somewhere that 15 percent of Lyme's patients also have morgellons.l

I've done some research on the Lyme test/s, there are now 3 testing methods. I keep seeing this range appear in articles, unfortunately it's all rather double dutch to me. Can anyone explain?
Western blot (P = 0.57) or C6 ELISA (P = 0.53)

Hi everyone,
Today I visited my doctor, totally unrelated to Lyme, though I did take my pathology results from 2005 with me. The doctor I am seeing is a GP & I've only been seeing him a short time. He does believe in Lyme disease however.
The doctor said he wasn't quite sure about my Lyme reading. He said it could be a false positive, since I was at the time, positive for Rickettsia. He said you don't necessarily have the disease, though your body does what is called an "anamnestic response".
He pointed out that the Infectious diseases doctor from 2005 who ordered the bloods, had hand written on the results "Negative" for strongyloide, even though the reading was *0.39. I said to the doctor he neglected to comment on the Lyme results as he was adamant there was no Lyme in Australia.
The results also showed a reading for Schistosomiasis of *0.500 & 0.300. Cat scratch was *<128.
In my mind, if a blood test shows a "number" other than "0" for a particular infection, your body must have, at some time, come in contact with the infectious agent.
Here's the definition of "anamnestic" -
anamnestic [an′amnes′tik]
1 pertaining to amnesia or memory. 2 pertaining to the immunologic memory and the immune response to an antigen to which immunocompetent cells have been exposed. 3 pertaining to the current or previous medical history of a patient.
1. pertaining to anamnesis. 2. aiding the memory. anamnestic response a secondary immune response; occurs with a second or subsequent exposure to an antigen. The antibody or cell-mediated response is more rapid and greater than occurred following the primary exposure.
