Q: Does cleaning with antibacterial products reduce illness in your home?A: No, these products make no difference to illness rates in homes. Our expert: Dr Michael Whitby Published 16/09/2010 If you believe what you see on TV, then your home is under attack. Every day, countless advertisements remind us that we are in danger of being overrun by harmful germs. Our only salvation, it would seem, is the vast range of antibacterial cleaners that line our supermarket shelves. www.abc.net.au/health/talkinghealth/factbuster/stories/2010/09/16/3013695.htm

You gotta a winner here! Dr. Micheal is after my own heart. We spend enough money extracting morgie we dont need anymore. What he says makes good common sense. I will concentrate my energys on washing my hands, its so easy to forget, even after the store. I can see my mother coming in with the mop on bedroom floor, with lots of clorax. I hated being sick and her attention to killing bugs was so smelly. Thanks for the Post!

Definitely a good read, could be helpful to those with M's & worrying about contamination.
Helped confirm for me what I already do, ie. wash my hands! My son said tonight only his left hand was dirty, so the right didn't need washing ...sure took some convincing to get that left hand in the bowl!!!
When I think back to the days of taking my shower on a Saturday morning, scrubbing the shower with bleach!!...leaving a taste in my mouth for the entire day, yuk!

We most likely become ill more regularly today because of all the chemicals which are used, and those we are purposely exposed to...Not because of the amount of organisms present in the environment... bactreia have been around for thousands of years before the invention of chemical cleaners. It is only today that we have the "super bugs"
I have little doubt that many of them chemicals have immune suppressing ingredients. The immune system by itself can handle "bugs" if it was not first damaged by all the chemicals we THINK we need. Our modern way of thinking is all back to front.
The products we use only ultimately feed the system...ie profit and the chemicals in turn make us SICKER so we are forced to buy more of their symptom drugs.... The pills are tayorled to treat auto immune disease and alegreis probably caused thru our diabolically toxic environment. It is like a circle of madness or a never ending nightmere.

I use baking soda or vinegar for cleaning whenever I can, but even they have antibacterial qualities in them.
