i noticed they are eating the wood of on the frame of an expensive painting in my home. about once a week i return and see a large fiber protruding. i take a paper towel sprayed with some sort of disinfectant and remove it. anyone have any ideas what to do about this?
isn't it amazing how these things are a cross between a parasite that lives in the body, and an insect in the living world?

Hi jreamus Not really sure but I do know that bird mite get into wood maybe it's a x bird mite/morg. What I do know is neither bird mite or morgs likes menthol. I mixed some with water and used it when I thought Bird mite was the prob. Also had a shower wash with menthol in it - they hated it but can't buy the jolly thing anymore.
