Hi,
I've been through most of the site, but I can't seem to find the dilution ratio for ammonia to be used for: (a) washing clothes (laundry) and for: (b) general spraying.
You help will be very much appreciated since we have to start our debugging program today (finally got our dryer working).

Are you talking bleach because if you are to kill mold it is one part bleach to 10 parts water. This strength will bleach your clothes though. I used it to clean mold from a moldy house off the walls etc.

Thanks mfromcanada,
Actually no. I was talking about liquid ammonia that you add to your laundry or use for general house spraying. I read it somewhere, thought I'd printed it, but now for the life of me, I cannot find it or the link.
Help??

What I do is use 1/2 cup per load of clothes with 1/3 cup of borax.
For general cleaning I usually put 1 cup per gallon, now the pinesol bottle I have read says you can use it full strength, however; caution is in order ammonia can cross the blood brain barrier and make you very ill. So if you have places that you feel need a full strength application, make sure it is a place you can ventilate well, this is a wise thought regardless. I wouldn't use it full strength in my whole house.
Best I can do, whiterose

Hey Booniesboy,
1 part amonia to 3 parts water in a sprayer, the fumes are pretty strong. If anyone is using a less strong mixture in a sprayer with good results let me know.
I've been reading and someone mentioned that she had used Borax without amonia in the washer and even as a spray to clean with around the house. I was looking for others that might have info on just the Borax treatment (no amonia). My car has a very strong amonia smell and I suspect I do too when I get out of it.
I'm trying to not do the Diatomaceous Earth in the car. At least till I hit the lottery, then I'll get a whole fleet of cars, one will always be clean and ready to go, the others will be in the shop for De-Contamination, gotta keep the "Lawn Nombes" busy, right?. Yeah and I'll be be banging down the door to True Value's monthly sale on Do-it-Yourself Labotomy kit's, $19.95. Remember to get 2, just in case you screw up the 1st one...
Sounds like we need a single web page with pages on house, body, car and the like... Just to condense it all for easy access for us and those yet to come.

Why not try the safe solutions peppermint enzyme agent? You can dilute it and spray it on just about any surface. I use it in my car and in my office at work. It leaves a very pleasant minty aroma vs ammonia. I had first used cleaning solution from a pet supply store that claims to remove any oder, etc. It made everything smell like old urine. Not so nice. I re-sprayed with the enzyme stuff and now my bedroom smells faintly of mint..that's all. I swear by the stuff. It isn't cheap but a little goes a long way.

I use a mix of borax, peroxide and salt.I boil 4 cups of water(Quart)add 1 cup borax and let it sit till it cools. Then I pour off liquid only into spray bottle, add 1/4 cup salt,1 cup peroxide. Can be safely used for general cleaning, and also used on pets for pest control.I also spray on myself when I'm going outside to walk, helps keep bugs off me.Not my recipe, got it from another site, but it works!!
