Well, both of my ears have been itching like crazy lately.
A little Noxema in there helps for a little while until it dries out.
I started to get desperate tonight and used a metal nail file to scrape the inside of my ear canals.
Sure enough - I pulled a large (about 5mm x 2mm) fuzz ball out of my right ear !
I took it to the microscope - and it has two balls of black fibers surounded by a mass of white and clear fibers.
No more itching in that ear - for two hours and counting ! :-)
I am still working on my left ear, (I pulled a 3 inch clear fiber out out IT a few weeks ago), but I am sure soon enough more will come out and cause problems again :-(
This thing is a nightmare ! :-(

Well, John, be careful when you use that metal file. Nothing smaller than your elbow, now....I use boxes of q=tips. You can use half strength peroxide and water, and it will dry it out. Actually, I think we can drowned Morgella fibers in any kind of fluid. I know bleach doesn't kill them, so maybe we need to look at submersion. Try and hold the peroxide, lay on your side, for more than 5 minutes. I have itchy ears, too, friend, good luck. Deb

I seem to be getting all too many regular ear infections as well - at least one every 2-3 months or so. I'm never far from a bottle of Sofradex or Otomize.

john and all, I was just wondering if it is the "fuzz" in our ears that we actually "hear" the "quorum sensing".
I just remembered that a co-worker of mine, from the life insurance industry, in 1997/1998 went on permanent disability for 'tinittis". I wonder now if he had Morgellons. He had carrot red hair, white complexion and blue eye".

Oh, the tinnitus thing... Didn't Barbra Streisand say she had that too ? Ever since my first Rock concert at the Providence Civic Center when I was like 13 years old... And I was close to the MASSIVE speakers, - Rick Derringer blew my ears out. After that, I learned to use ear plugs, because, man, this sound is causing pain to my ear. I have had that high frequency ringing in my left ear ever since ! AND, my left ear is most of the cause of my symptoms... (lots of fibers coming from or going to there ! ) So it seems like some of this MIGHT be related.

Deb Wow - Deb - the name of my first Love -) - gone to Cal - 3000 miles away :-( Anyway, yes, the peroxide helps, and the mixture with alcohol is good too, but it hurts when there are any scabs or open lesions in the ear canal. Yes, I am aware of the dangers, but when I pull a fiber out with the nail file, I feel so much better :-) My fingernails just don't do the trick. Wow - this Northeast Storm is getting pretty bad !

Add me to the itchy ears list. I do the Q-tip bit last thing every night and first thing every morning. I have a pile of used Q-tips next to the microscope. All have fibrils, fragments of fibrils and the black specks. This past week I called every dermatologist in three large cities; not one had heard of Morgelleons. By now the team at Oklahoma State ought to be able to at least tell us how to get our hair clean! Cat got their tongues???

Also, even BRAND NEW boxes of Q-tips around here have active fibers ALREADY on them ! Look closely and pull one out ! :-( I even bought a box of the antibacterial treated ones and they were full of fibers too ! :-( So they really like the cotton - or maybe they are genetically related to the cotton crop to begin with ?!?!

Try this, put a little vinegar in a cup, add some baking soda, dip the cue tip in and remove it, watch the cue tip and sooner or later a fiber will start to emerge and move. You can grab it with a tweezer and pull it out of the cue tip. Check it out under microscope and it looks like a clear tube, hard to get it to stay on the slide so I put a streak of water on it first.

Hi, I haven't tried that yet, BUT : I have had some good results with just plain cotton swabs. It seems these things LOVE the cotton. Just leaving a swab in your ear for a few minutes and then slowly pulling it out will drag the alien fibers out with it ! Thereby ending the itch. For now I just CAN'T believe that these fibers are coming out of the swab in such a short time. So where are they coming from ? Inside of my body John

I have noticed lately that the fibers actually appear to be encased in a yellow clear slime. The slime seems to get a life of its own, perhaps the fiber moves the slime too. I have also realized that the fibers coil around normal hair and then make the hair move. The hair is not moving on its own, it is the fiber coiled around it that moves the hair. Filamentous fungi can inhabit the hair. The yellow ear wax when under microscope has fibers in it. Again, I think the yellow slime is in our ears and the fibers are inside of the slime. Slime mold with some sort of self assembling nano parasite put inside of it. This is soo terrible. I know the itch can drive one around the bend. Hope your ears get better. Try not to put cue tips in the ears. I still do when it drives me nuts, otherwise I just use a bobbie pin.

The smaller fibers do 'piggy back' on the 'hair', but the 'hair' does move all on it's own. (at least mine, & many others have this problem) More at some times than others, but I've cleaned off the 'piggy back fibers', and my so called 'hair' still moves all on it's own. It isn't my hair. That's why. It is called nano wires, according to Dr. Staninger.
Mine don't even look like my hair did. I look like I have a head full of dolls hairs. All shiny & fake looking & feeling. And if I burn it---these DO burn--it doesn't even smell like normal human hair...which if you have ever smelled human hair burn, it is quite repulsive! It really stinks! These smell nothing like that, are sharper, and you can see through a lot of mine.
I had wondered before any of the biting and stinging stuff began, why my hair looked like dolls hair, and why there was so much of it growing at the nape of my neck, that was never there before...but I had NO IDEA what was about to transpire!
Please: be VERY CAREFUL cleaning your ears. I know they itch, but you can break your ear drum easily using any metal inside of the ear canal.
Good luck you all!

Wow, thanks for the new posts here. Lots of good info ! I tell you, this thing is turning me into (more of) an alcoholic ! After three days of staying awake with NO sleep and terrible itching in my ears, eyebrows, nose, etc. I am forced to drink. Just a few Vodka drinks and the itching stops ! I don't know if I am just getting numb, or if the morgies are staying inside and eating the alcohol, or WHAT ! But I manage to get some sleep. But sure enough, when I sober up, the itching starts again. I can't explain it, but I need to let my liver try and regenerate every few days ! John

john, there is no doubt that one becomes obsessed with getting these itchy things out of our skin. Most of us have some sort of routine. My is after everyone has gone to bed. I brush my skin with a hard brush and numerous yellowy slivers of crap comes out. Then I work on my hands with funga soap, antibacterial soap, boric acid, bleach, sea salt, baking soda and vinegar. Whatever works. On my face I wash with Baby Shampoo which works great at getting the itch out of the eyes. I pull the fibers from my fingers and examine under microscope. I save the violently moving ones and the most colourful ones. So far, the green fibers are the worst.

But sure enough, when I sober up, the itching starts again. I can't explain it, but I need to let my liver try and regenerate every few days ! John John, I so understand your situation! But please, can you try getting something healthier for your liver to try to get sleep? This condition we have is very hard on our livers as it is, and adding the alcohol to that is really not a good thing. Insomnia is a side affect of this condition too. There are times that I have to take something to sleep if I have to get up early the next day especially! I do have medical & am on disability, so I can get a prescription for myself. But, I try to limit that too, and alternate between two different ones. As they too can be addictive, and your body doesn't respond to them as well if you take them too often. Perhaps if you don't have medical to cover it, you can try something from the health food store, or ask your local pharmacist which over the counter ones work best? Just remember: You can NOT take them, and drink! What helps many of us, is eating as healthy as we can afford to, cutting sugar out of the diet, artificial sweeteners out of the diet, and refined flour & processed foods. That may seem like a lot to do, so if it is really difficult for you, try cutting back & out a little at a time, and more each week. It should HELP. Learning how to relax helps too, as stress seems to set this stuff off. I know it isn't easy, but we all have to make the best of things, and take good care of ourselves. I know that I have learned to care about myself more than I'd ever known I could after going through this stuff! I do everything I can most of the time, to make myself as comfortable and healthy as possible. Hope you don't mind the input! We all care about each other around here! Prayers & good thoughts your way, Celia
