The October meeting of the Tampa Support Group will be held Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 2:00 p.m.
We have made special arrangements for a certified Darkfield specialist to be there to conduct Live Bood Analyses for anyone wishing to participate.
The cost is $50 per person but will be subsidized up to the full amount for anyone who wants to have this done but cannot afford it.
Each person will be provided with a DVD of their blood.
This analysis is for your benefit in terms of screening possible problems with your blood. Additionally, we are hoping to find any similarities among the participants that may help contribute to the understanding of Morgellons.
The meeting will be held at the same time and place:
Sunday 10-25-09 at 2:00 p.m. Office of Dr. Cheryl Reed 2605 W. Swann Ave., Suite 100 Tampa, FL 33609
As this is a special meeting, please let me know ahead of time if you are planning to attend through a PM. Also let me know if you intend to take advantage of this opportunity.
Thanks, Sunnydaze

Hi Sunnydaze,
This is very interesting and for that reason could you post it someplace else--like under morgellons research or anyplace else bringing out what will be done at this group meeting?
Many folks won't look at this because it is under Tampa Support Group--and I think it is really important information!

Sunnydaze,
Thank You So Much--considering that much research suggests a difference in the blood of the masses--this could be really interesting stuff!!!

Well, I hope we have a good turnout. People have different reasons for not coming. Some are afraid of being exposed to other people with Morgellons, some have a long drive (4 hours each way for some) and may be sick or can't afford the gas money. Still others come and hope for miracles, kind of like the way most of us come to these boards every day, hoping for a breakthrough of some kind.
I guess I still do that, too, but with very little hope. More of a quick scan "just in case" there's a tidbit. I'm at the point that I feel that I have to do whatever I can to try to push it along and not look to anyone else for answers.
So it may be only a half dozen samples. I hope it is at least twice that, but you never know. Right now, I have five confirmations, but I only put it out last night. We'll see....

hi everyone, I just found this forum and I live in tampa, florida. I would really like to connect with some folks in my area who are dealing with this as I have yet to meet anyone in person who is afflicted like myself. Are there any support group meetings comming up soon? I'm tired of doing this alone and really need some connection.

wildflower -
What a shame! We had a meeting the day you posted - started 15 minutes before your post! The next meeting is not yet determined (because of the holiday), but it will be either the 3rd or 10th of January. I will announce it as soon as it is decided. Another new woman posted who is also from FL. I'll send you a personal message.

A new "regular" day of the month will go into effect with the next meeting. Instead of being the last Sunday of the month, it will now be the first Sunday AFTER the first Friday of the month. So in Feb (the next meeting), it will be February 7. Up until May, it will be the first Sunday of the month. In May, the first Friday will be the 7th, and so the meeting will be on the 9th, which is the second Sunday. But don't worry about all that. Just remember the first Sunday of the month; as usual, notices will always be sent out ahead of time. [The reason for this change is that Dr. Reed holds her Morgellons clinic on the first Friday of the month. Many of the people she sees drive great distances for the appointment, and opt to stay in a hotel for a couple of nights afterwards in order to get to at least one meeting.]
So...as I said, the next meeting will be SUNDAY FEBRUARY 7, 2010 at the usual time of 2:00 p.m. at the following location:
Office of Dr. Cheryl Reed 2605 W. Swann Ave., Suite 100 Tampa, FL 33609

Hi, Sunny,
Do you ever get new info at these meetings that you could share with us? As I said before, If I lived closer, I would be there.
Could you tell us a little about Dr. Reeds Morgellons clinic? Thanks.

Hi, Shubot -
Almost missed your post! Dr. Reed is just learning. She is a conventional doctor but her "mind got opened" by the illness of a close friend (Morgellons). Her practice is general medicince, but people have been calling her because they've seen her name in these announcements in various groups. She still only sees people with Morgellons one day a month. She sticks with what she knows, i.e., she tests people for known associated disorders such as Lyme, etc, and treats within established protocols. On the side, however, she is learning as much as she can from alternative medicine, and from her patients. Some people are having some improvements as certain issues are diagnosed and treated, but I think her biggest contribution is that people can finally talk to a real medical doctor and not get dismissed. She's a lovely lady. We've been meeting for about a year and a half now, and I love going to the meetings. I think the isolation is one of the worst things about all this. If anything emerges from the meetings that is of wider relevance, I will post that. I hope that anyone who lives in FL will try to make at least one meeting (it's a large state, and some people drive 4 hours each way!). Send me a pm if you are in FL with your phone number and I will call you. It is a very healing experience!

Hi, I sure wish I could come, it would be so benifical. I spend so many hours each day because of morgellons, it would be so nice to not have to lie about my condition. I sure hope many make the effort, know matter what. To be so secret takes much energy, that we need for healing. Thanks

Wish you could come, too, Amron. It really is comforting to be with others who are suffering the same condition. One of the worst parts of this is isolation - and, as you say, the hiding, the double-life, if you will.

Not sure they are still in operation and it is best not to place your email on the front board due to so much harassment of those at this board.

Greetings....I was excited to see a Morgellons group. I have been a sufferer for almost four years and there are no groups that I am aware of where I live in New Jersey. I am inclined to start one. I would like to speak to someone from your group to get me started. I was also curious if your group is well attended or not. Thank you so much for your help. Linda

If someone would like to help you in this regard (as I don't know anything about it) that is great. Thing is there is a rule about placing contact info on the front board. If someone sees that you wish to be contacted you can PM which is personal message and share information there.
This way folks are protected. It is the rules of the board which you just probably missed. Hope someone is interested. I am pretty sure they have a long standing group in Sonoma California, if that helps at all. Good Luck.
