We've discussed how attracted the flying fibers are to mirrors ... vain little thingys that they are.
It seems to me that Windex-cleaned mirrors attract them - more and faster.
Vinegar seems to repel them longer, and then finally allows them to alight on the surface.
Anyone else notice this?

Thinker, Definately!! All I have to do is get close to a mirror and it looks like I spit toothepaste all over the mirror! I can't keep mirrors/glass clean..when I do clean them...they're a streaky mess! Hugs, JrsyGrl

It seem to me that when you start getting better there are less of the flying things around . I rember seeing some out side insect flying around a lamp . That seem like they were after the flying things . take care god loves us

Yes, bc, you are so right. I have seen the bugs chasing the flying fibers, too.
It seems like after it rains there is usually more fiber floating around my porch light than usual.
Some nights are heavier than others.
Ever since I first saw it, I've been watching a lot more and those bugs are definitely chasing the fibers.

Hey bc -
Maybe those bugs are looking for dates. ROTF
Seriously, though ...
Also, if a clothes dryer vent is near their porch light, fibers are visible when the dryer is in operation.
The night I first observed, there were a lot - and quite active - despite the lack of any breeze or noticeable air movement.
It seems counter-intuitive to say they're heavier/more abundant after it rains, but others have made that same observation.
Can anyone suggest why and how that happens if the air is so full of moisture and theoretically should have weighted them down and removing from the air?

i'm of the realm of thought that the clear "motile" fiber's locomotion is caused by being intensely statically charged (from leeching from your nervous system?). I've experimented with magnets and statically charged objects, ie ballons, plastic cups, combs..etc.. all of which produce a great amount of movement.
when you wipe down a mirror with a towel or paper towel.. the friction is causing a seriously high amount of static electricity.
i dont think it has to do with the chemical makeup of the cleaner. i believe it is the static that attracts them.
NOT (mind you) like any regular sort of "dust" would .. but since they are thriving on static.. they act even more obviously this way.
when i hear a fiber vibrating on my timpanic membrane in my ear, when i wear headphones.. i touch my metal computer chasis.. and get a shock.. and BEEEEEeeeoooo..... the noise of the fiber bursts.. then grinds to a halt.
if it starts up again.. i discharge my body with a zap on metal.. and bam .. stops the vibration again.
this disease has a completely electrical component.... as do MANY fungal infestations.

I see them hanging off the mirrors too, and of course the stereo speakers, waving in the breeze and dancing around...

I must mention - these days I use tea tree oil mixed with water in a spray bottle for cleaning. It is amazing, even on mirrors no streaks! and you can even give your face a spray at the same time!

Yes, I totally agree about the static - I think their most favorite thing to cling to is the black light. They jump at it. Regular fuzz and lint do not.
Vinegar, for me, seems not to coat the mirror. To me, Windex seems to leave chems behind which actually attract dirt/lint. I had already observed this before learning about Morgs.
I use newspaper instead of paper towels - learned the trick from a maid. Sounds crazy, works great.
These days, mfgrs put things in their products to make you buy more, like corn syrup in junk snacks. It makes you want to eat more and more.
I can go twice as long between cleaning mirrors if I use vinegar/water mixture. So I was wondering if the Windex folks were doing the same. Whaddya think?
Be careful using that computer to ground yourself unless you want to get a new one. LOL I'm sure you know that - just funnin' with ya.

speakers are SUPER magnetized!

prevenge -
I'll bet you're still figuring a way to record the ear noise. Have you gotten any closer to being successful?
I'm thinking somehow you may be able to record a vibration, maybe not sounding exactly like the beeping, but could just get vibration recorded?
And, if you can record it, how do you go about deciphering what you get? I'm still fascinated by our prior discussion re: same. Would you compare it to some kind of code or rhythm or what?

bc, glad to hear you're feeling normal! I've been using the Orange TKO...I've mopped with it twice. Don't know yet how effective it is on the fibers, but the house smells wonderful! I mix it for the heaviest cleaning. Don't know if anyone else notices a black build-up on your shoes that seems to deposit clumps of fibers on the floor? Well, I did, so washed the soles of my shoes with TKO and haven't had that problem again. I can't imagine WHERE the fibers are coming from...I vacuum and mop daily. The only thing that makes sense is that I'm tracking them in from outside, my auto and/or they replicate so fast, daily cleaning isn't enough. Help! I'm SOOOOOOOO tired of cleaning! Anyone know a morgie housekeeper?

bc - It's so wonderful to hear how well you've been feeling. That's what being here is all about - getting help and getting better. Good for you!!!!
joyfullee - Pretty much it's looking like there are different sources and different kinds of fiber with different colors - different purposes and ways of distributing.
I bucked the "outside" theory for a while, sticking only with cotton theory. But, alas, I have changed my mind after much research and observation. Sorry to have to break the news.
Now that the election is over, I'm going to start bugging politicians again. Dennis Kucinich (D) tried to help this effort in '01 and got shot down. Ron Paul (R) is an M.D. and is also very open to this info. Surely Boxer and Feinstein are savvy to it, too.
Maybe the times they are a changin'. Shall we pray?

Bc....... about the menthol crystals......that's the ingredient(besides Reishi mushroom) in the Ganoderma toothpaste that helps to dry the lesions out quickly. You could add other ingredients into it as well if you wished. I think Joyfullee might have bought hers online, I'll ask her. I bought mine from a crystals shop. It is very cooling when you put it on your skin. It is also really good for removing small thingies on the skin like warts and even sunspots...they just fall off or peel off after a few days of application.

About the allergic reaction to band aids and sticking plaster.......I also noticed that if you put cotton plaster on the lesions you end up with whole tribes of them at the edges of the band aid or plaster and if its'cotton plaster they grow through it after a few hours.
Although you are left with an angry red rash that stays red for ages I think it's not such a bad idea, as it seems to me that they have migrated from the central lesion to the edges of the band aid in order to get some oxygen. If you get your tweezers and quick as a flash, nip in and remove them all with tweezers around the perimeters of the rash, they don't come back to the area of that lesion. Then you spread a bit of your favourite anti morg cream on the area. I think it's better to use plastic strips as they only seem to grow through the cotton. It took about 3 months till you couldn't see where the band aid had been.

I use rubbing alcohol on my mirrors and windows with a good paper towel (not cheap ones) and it seems to do a good job. The cheap paper towels leave fibers on the surface. Try it!!
