Many Morgs folks say they have ringing in their ears sometimes at a solid, constant pitch/frequency, and sometimes beeping - described as sounding like Morse Code. Here is a link to the Morse Code alphabet and some translators that may be worth playing with. Maybe it actually is Morse Code messages? morsecode.scphillips.com/Heck, I had a friend whose dental fillings were picking up a radio station who had an antenna near his house. (He also couldn't talk on the phone at times because the radio was on the phone, too.) The board's been slow, so I thought it was worth a shot. Good luck!

You aren't talking about "tinnitus"are you? Sounds like the same symptoms. Can be caused by industrial machinery, altered blood flow to the ears or some medications. I think quite a few CFS sufferes get it, too. en.wikipedia.org/Tinnitus

Yes this is very similiar to tinnitus
I believe that this is being caused by this creature not your typical "Tinnitus" in that respect......very annoying goes along with all the other symptoms we deal with on a daily basis....just sort of fits right in to the internal damage this creature causes....

can i tell you i was afraid to post on lymebusters about the sounds i heard but then i found out everyone else hears it....
...WOW what a relief!
and naaaah.. no.. not tinnunitis or whatever. i've had this disease for only 2 months, and i've NEVER heard weird noises in my ear except fo the occasional ringing (high pitched) sound i've had all my life i only got like 3 times a year. thats caused by oils in the ear canal organs area or somethign.. anyway this is a DISTINCT sound.. that alot of people agree on... a creaking sound. tapping at first but then faster till its one long scratch-creak sound.
rythmic at first hearing. but i dont think it's rythm with purpose... only a result of growth activity. quorum sensing bacteria squirting fiberous material through and out of your flesh. or somethign along those lines.
when i put on headphones at work... it sounds like WOOD CREAKING.. like the sound of trees creaking in the wind on a cool fall night.. .like in sleepy hollow or something.. or like that sound you hear when they're on the boat in Pirates of the Carribean, with the wood planks creaking together.
da - da - da-da -dadadadadadadaddadada like starts out slow then intensifies in frequency.
if anything... i percieve this sound... to be the actual sound of the fibers being produced.. and "growing" through your flesh. just.. this time.. they're around or in your ear drum / timpanic membrane.. and of course.. you sense the vibrations as auditory frequencies.
i wonder...
if you took a stethescope to an area of your body where you feel the most crawling.. and heard the same thing. hell.. any audiophiles out there... liek me... try to record it.
as far as morse code goes....
seriously... i get angry when people grasp at straws like that. nothing personal... and i KNOW how far out this disease is and how insane it makes you.. but come on. thats just letting yourself just fall off the rocker.
nothing wrong with a lil imagination here and there... and nothign wrong with deducting some seriously out there explanations that accord to LOGIC.. via this seriously out there disease.. but man... morse?
well i wont go there.
you can tho.
get back to us on yoru findings..
and i DONT mean to sound condescending in ANY way about this.
i just think its far to reaching.

Hi all:
Yup! Me too..... Tinnitis is as close as I can come to describing it. It is endemic with most morgies.
I've had it for over 3 years. Worse some times than others. Usually a constant high pitch ringing. Sometimes it sort of goes away, but not for very long!

I hear a sound as well. I am always glad to hear that I am not the only one with these weird symptoms. I have done some research and you may want to look up "Taos Hum" on the net. Lots of info.

Some Morgs folks report a constant low hum, like the hum heard by many in Taos (maybe caused by ELF transmission, some say).
Some report a constant high-pitch electronic or screeching hum (definitely not ELF).
Some report the beeping, like Morse Code, which gets so loud that it cannot be ignored. That's why I decided to post the link to the Morse Code alphabet.
So, today Crow came to see me. She and I are old friends but that's another story for another time.
She sat in the tree and screeched loudly, "Caw-caw, caw-caw, caw-caw."
I thought hmmm, I can practice the Morse Code!
Now, I know that three sets of double-caws means she wants peanuts. My internal translator hears, "Pea-nuts, pea-nuts, pea-nuts."
If her sounds are translated as short sounds, the Morse Code is the letter I (two dots). That makes Crow a Ricky Ricardo crow!! Aye-aye, aye-aye, aye.
If translated as long sounds (two underbars), it is the letter M. That means Crow was saying, "Mmmmmm." So, it means Crow was hungry for peanuts!!
ROTF. Sorry. It's just way past time for some levity around here.

Does anyone find that their ears ring more at night, but not necessarily when they're in bed?
At first, I thought it was just that it was more quiet at night, so I started paying attention. Nope, they just seem to make more noise at night. Could that contribute to the insomnia? For me, yep, I think so.
Do your ears ring more if you don't get enough sleep?
I've been trying to take my life back and have more "awake" time. I don't think my creatures like it much. They sing like crazy in the morning if I haven't had enough sleep.
And I've been waiting anxiously with my Morse Code list, but I haven't had any beeping since I got the idea. Should've had some beeping by now - could they possibly know I'm ready to translate? LOL
I'm tired of practicing on Crow. I want some reaaaaal beeps. LOL LOL LOL

Yep - the ringing gets worse at night and yep the ringing gets worse if I don't get enough sleep.
I used to say I felt as though I was in a jumbo jet aeroplane 24/7.
Anyone around me knows when my ears are bad because I talk really really LOUD!!!!

OMG. I just realized I talk really loud, too! ROTF
I turn to see people staring at me and realize I must be too loud, but I never realized it was when I was on audial overload!!!

Hey prevenge -
Been thinking about your post. I carefully considered it and am ready to respond.
You said:
"i wonder...if you took a stethescope to an area of your body where you feel the most crawling.. and heard the same thing. hell.. any audiophiles out there... liek me... try to record it."
and
"as far as morse code goes....
seriously... i get angry when people grasp at straws like that. nothing personal... and i KNOW how far out this disease is and how insane it makes you.. but come on. thats just letting yourself just fall off the rocker.
nothing wrong with a lil imagination here and there... and nothign wrong with deducting some seriously out there explanations that accord to LOGIC.. via this seriously out there disease.. but man... morse?

My humble response:
You consider recording it your way and I in my way. If no one ever asked "what if," well we know what happens when no one asks that, don't we?
The beeps are short and long, which would match both the format of Morse Code and Binary Code (0/1, on/off). I assume with your audio background, you're well familiar with binary.
So, we each are thinking of ways to preserve the sound for further analysis. We're both just thinking outta the box, and that's a very good thing.
And if you think I'm whacko for communicating with birds, well, my parrot sings entire songs while dancing, has a 60+ word vocabulary (English) and makes up his own sentences with words that are appropriate with equally appropriate timing. Yeah, buddy, he's a real gem. They all are. We just need to listen better and reach out for communication.
Not enough of that going on these days, on a whole bunch of different levels, don't you think?

Life does seem so much more wondrous doesn't it! I'm not sure what it is. If it is dealing with all the terrible symptoms, that makes us appreciate feeling good.
Or is it loose one thing, gain another, always changing, yet nature and God keeping it in balance.

When I first discovered that I had Morgellons over 4 years ago I had a clicking, popping and cracking noise in my left ear. It reminded me of the old cereal commercials with the Snap-Crackle-Pop of Rice Crispies. I went to a doctor and he mentioned this without me having said anything about this symptom. He told me it was common with Morgellons. Now years later the clicking and popping has become a hard "THUMP. THUMP, THUMP." It is not high blood pressure as I have checked my BP. I am afraid that it could be an actual bug on my ear drum because I had 6 big bugs exit my legs. One big lump surfaced on my scalp. It took days to go away even after using Lindane which is a very toxic medication. I am currently taking numerous herbs and oils to break down CHITIN which is not only around yeast, but also on worm eggs, bug eggs and insect bodies. I am hoping to slowly erode away the chitin and thus kill the Morgellons parasites. However this will be a slow process. In fact, I think the THUMPING began when I started the homeopathics to break down chitin. It is NOT simply tinnitis!
