Thank you Sho for E mailing me about this.
I guess I should let everyone know how close to home this is and that it took Sho sending this to me to ignite the spark that I thought had disappeared.
Dr Kolb is the Doctor in Atlanta who was to operate on me. Her practice submitted to UHC Medicare Complete to have my implants removed and was continuously turned down. (first refusal was because original surgery was cosmetic, then upon learning about my health it was turned down because Dr Kolb was out of network.) Dr Kolbs office told me at that time that if I had regular Medicare it would pay for my surgery.
On Jan. 1 2008 my plan with UHC went from an HMO to a POS which should mean that I could go to any doctor, all I had to do was pay 30% co- pay rather than the 20% for in network.
When I called UHC in January I was given an approval code for the surgery at which time I called Dr Kolbs office to schedule to see them and arrange my surgery.
After numerous calls I have now been informed that they do not take Medicare. PERIOD! or any type of Medicare plan administered by a third party.
Medicare Rights had became involved last year when the surgery had been turned down 5 times.
I called them again in Jan 08 and after speaking to Dr Kolbs office Medicare Rights was told the same thing. Andrea Keller (Medicare Rights) told me "I just don't understand"
I have not talked directly to Dr Kolb as of the Jan 1 BUT I do plan on calling and speaking with her, and not her office staff. Dr Kolb upon meeting her a year ago seemed like a very caring and compassionate Doctor. I put complete faith in her.
Here is the side note: I never told them I have Morgellons because at the time there were so many unanswered questions and I was told by the person who referred me not to tell that I in fact had this horrible disease. When I saw her however; I suspected she knew.
There are many reasons I have not been around.
I will try to fill you in soon. Lots of trying times.
Ps 25:2-3 In you I trust, O my God. Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. No one whose hope is in You will ever be put to shame... (NIV)
